Russia aims to point its ICBMs at the asteroid Apophis in 2036

Scientists at the Makeyev Rocket Design Bureau plan to modify ICBMs to help defend against meteorites. Lead researcher Sabit Saitgarayev says the project wll target the asteroid Apophis, which may pass "dangerously close" to Earth in 2036.
